West along the coast from Folkestone, Sandgate runs into Hythe and the character changes twice. Both are ours; beyond Hythe is not.
Sandgate
A shoreline village strung along a single coast road, with property fronting straight onto it. Limited standing, narrow frontages, and a handful of addresses where the last stretch is a carry rather than a drive-up. Attractive to live in and tight to work in — which means an agreed loading point and, where necessary, a shuttle.
The salt and wind notes on coastal and seafront moves apply here as much as on the Leas.
Hythe
A proper town rather than a village. A high street with loading restrictions, Victorian and Edwardian stock on the streets behind, the Royal Military Canal running through, and post-war and modern housing on the edges with driveways and turning space.
The canal shapes routing more than people expect — the crossings are limited, so the obvious way between two Hythe addresses is not always the working one. We sort that in advance.
Low ground
A practical note rather than an alarm. A few of the lowest roads on this stretch know about the combination of a high tide and sustained heavy weather. If your address is one of them, mention it and we will plan around the forecast.

At the Hythe end. Beyond it, towards Dymchurch and Romney Marsh, is outside our patch — see areas we cover.

On the lowest roads after a combination of high tide and sustained weather, occasionally. Not often, and worth mentioning if your address is one that knows about it.
